Intdev nominated for BASA Award

In supporting "Night of 1000 Drawings" intiative and using art to raise funds, Intdev was nominated for a Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) Award. BASA recognises the expresssions of our extrardinarily diverse nation and focused on mutually beneficial business-arts partnerships during 2007. The awards were presented 26 May 2008 at the Johannesburg Park Station to various businesses in South Africa by the First Lady Zanele Mbeki. The event was sponsored by Anglo American who demonstrated its philosophy of sustained engagement with all facets of our society.

Last year, Intdev supported the "Night of 1000 Drawings" initiative to support the inner city homeless in South Africa. The event is a one night exhibition made possible by the public donating A5 drawings to Paballo Ya Batho. These are in turn sold to the public for R100 a piece and all proceeds go to charity. The Night of 1000 Drawings encourages contributors to express themselves and creatively support the less fortunate.

Various media sources covered the event. More information about the mentioned organisations at: http://www.1000drawings.co.za/, http://www.paballo.org.za/ and http://www.basa.co.za/.
